Mandarin Village Stories

yanrong's classroomFrom Grace's Family:

"We enrolled our daughter at GVA to open doors for her and to expand her mind and way of thinking that only a bilingual and multi-cultural education can. At first, it was intimidating for my wife and me as we are not bilingual, but GVA Douglas County warmly welcomed our kindergartener and us. We love the intimate feeling of the school and staff. My daughter is excited to go to school and eager to learn a language that her mom and dad don’t know. It’s been an enjoyable experience thus far!”

"I grew up in a Chinese family (not in China), but do not speak the language. GVA Douglas County lets my children learn Mandarin Chinese and the culture better than I can do. I love that native Chinese speakers teach Mandarin. Children learn in English fifty percent of their day and fifty percent in Mandarin. It never gets old to see Mikela talk to other Chinese people in Mandarin. As the world gets smaller, a second or third language will come in handy. I love that GVA helps me give a gift of language to my children.”
