School Safety & Security
At Global Village Academy Douglas County, the safety and well-being of our students, staff, families, and visitors is our highest priority. We are committed to maintaining a secure learning environment where every child can thrive and every staff member feels supported.
Our safety and security program operates across three core service areas:
Student, Staff, & Visitor Protection
- Ensuring a safe school climate through proactive safety practices, secure campus procedures, and visibility and support from our shared School Resource Officer (SRO).
Emergency Preparedness & Planning
- Developing, training, and practicing comprehensive emergency protocols to respond swiftly and effectively in any situation.
Physical Facility Protection & Technology Systems
- Safeguarding our building, grounds, and assets through layered safety systems, monitored access controls, and emergency communications.
Partnerships & Support
GVA-DC collaborates closely with the Douglas County School District (DCSD) Safety & Security Department. Through this partnership:
- A shared School Resource Officer (SRO) works directly with our school to support student safety and positive school culture.

Security Systems Specialists install, monitor, and maintain all security equipment on campus.

A 24-hour district dispatch center provides real-time security monitoring and emergency support for all DCSD schools, including GVA-DC.

Our team coordinates with local law enforcement and supports after-hours emergency response to ensure critical systems remain operational.
At GVA-DC, safety is a shared responsibility and a collective commitment. Together with our district partners, parents, and community, we work every day to protect our students, uphold secure school operations, and maintain a safe and welcoming learning environment.
