In honor of Earth Day on April 22, Ms. Elliott, STEM Teacher extraordinaire, is challenging students to upcycle materials found around their homes and create something useful or decorative.
Ms. Elliott recommends approaching this challenge like a "scientist" and using the following steps:
- Do some research. There are a lot of great ideas online.
- Make a design plan including what you'd like to create and the materials you'd like to use.
- Build it!
- Test it! If it's not exactly what you wanted, go back to the "build" phase until you get it just right.
- Submit your pictures to [email protected]. We will proudly show off your creations on our Facebook page where we hope to inspire everyone to remember to take care of our beautiful planet.
