From the Principal

Dear GVA-DC Families,

We are wrapping up Semester 1!

The last week of the semester can be a whirlwind! Between wrapping up instructional units, completing middle-of-year assessments, and preparing for the holidays, it’s a busy time for all. To help your student(s) stay on track:

  • Attendance Matters: Please ensure your student(s) are present and on time every day this week. School starts promptly at 8:00 am.
  • Timely Pick-Up: The school day ends at 3:30 pm. All students should be picked up no later than 4:00 pm.

Giving Tree Reminder

If you picked a name off of the Giving Tree, please return the wrapped and labeled gift (with the ornament) by 3:00 pm on Wednesday, December 11th. Thank you for helping us spread holiday cheer!

International Day: Haiti

This exciting celebration is almost here! Families are invited to attend one of the two performances (same content) on Friday, December 13th at 8:30 am and 10:10 am.

Please note:

  • The 8:30 am performance is typically the most crowded. If your schedule is flexible, we encourage you to attend the 10:10 am performance.
  • Early checkouts are highly discouraged on International Day to minimize disruptions.

Reminders for International Day:

  • Free Dress Day- Students are encouraged to wear holiday sweaters or outfits!
  • No Specials will take place.
  • Lunch will not be served.

Lost and Found

Our Lost and Found is overflowing! Please check for any missing items this week. Unclaimed items will be donated after 12:00 pm on Friday, December 13th.

Stay Healthy This Season

There are lots of colds and viruses going around. Help your student(s) stay healthy by encouraging:

  • A good night’s sleep
  • Drinking plenty of water
  • Eating a balanced diet with healthy snacks
  • Frequent hand washing—it makes a big difference!

Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we finish the semester strong. We look forward to seeing you at International Day and wish your family a safe and healthy holiday season!

Warm regards,

Stacy Bush,
