Course Description
In 2nd grade English we are filling holes in students ability to read fluently and accurately with comprehension. Phonics is now dealing with multi-syllabic words and words that break the rules.
HOMEWORK - Second grade students need to read every night for at least 20 minutes. By Jan. the expectation is 25 minutes and by May, 30 minutes. As students are gaining skill, parents should read with them. As they reach independence, students should read independently.
