In addition, we have been asked by our project manager to not have students and families at school Friday, August 2nd through Sunday, August 4th due to safety concerns that come from all of the heavy equipment operating on our campus during that time. If we get any rain at all, the paving project could be pushed back a few days to allow the ground to dry.
Therefore, we have rescheduled “Meet the Teacher” for Thursday, August 8th from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Uniforms will be on sale beginning at 10:00 am. We will not be taking school pictures at this event. Rather, student’s pictures will be taken on Monday, August 26th during the school day.
The first day of school for students in grades 1-6th has been bumped back to Monday, August 12th, with kindergarten students joining us on Wednesday, August 14th at 9:00 am. Fortunately, we have several extra days built into the calendar so we will not have to make up days lost due to this project being delayed.
We realize that shifting the start date from Wednesday, August 7th to Monday, August 12th may be inconvenient for families. As a result, we are partnering with Innovation Learning to provide care for students from 6:30 am – 6:00 pm on Wednesday, August 7th, Thursday, August 8th and Friday, August 9th. While our staff is disappointed to not be starting school on time, we intend to make the most of the extra days to continue working with our NEW reading and writing curriculum (English), creating common assessments in our Immersion Classes and writing our Unified Improvement Plan.
We thank you for your patience and understanding and look forward to seeing you and your child/ren soon!
