The Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for our innovative GVA Dragons! We’re hosting a Dragon Tank competition—a Shark Tank-style challenge where students will design a brand-new container for our Longmont Milkcaps collection. This fun project aims to create a standout container that encourages more milkcap donations and makes it easier to keep the collection clean and organized.
Why This Project Matters
The Longmont Milkcaps program provides GVA-DC with a fantastic passive fundraising opportunity, but our current collection method—a plain trashcan—often gets overlooked and requires frequent cleaning. We need a solution that’s creative, functional, and eye-catching to help maximize our impact!
How to Participate
- Students who want to participate in the Dragon Tank Challenge can form teams or enter individually.
- Each participant or team will showcase their ideas during the PIC Executive Committee Meeting on Thursday, May 8th.
- Presentations can include prototypes, drawings, or anything else that helps bring their vision to life.
What’s at Stake?
The winning design will be awarded $50 for materials to create the container, plus a special prize for all team members once the new container is installed. The goal is to have the winning container ready to receive milkcaps when the new school year begins.
If you are interested in participating, please “sign up/RSVP” by sending an email with team members to [email protected] by Monday, May 5th.
