March is infamously known for March Madness, the NCAA basketball tournament filled with excitement, competition, and bracket predictions, but did you know there’s a French music version of March Madness?
What is Manie Musicale?
Started in 2017 by two French teachers in Maine, Michelle Fournier and Stephanie Carbonneau, Manie Musicale (or "Music Madness") is an exciting competition that gets students engaged with current French music!
Just like the March Madness basketball tournament, Manie Musicale features 16 songs from Francophone artists, competing in head-to-head matchups. Students vote in each round, and by the end of March, one song will be crowned the Manie Musicale champion!
In 2025, over 30 countries, 6,000+ schools, and 790,000+ students will be participating, and we are thrilled to bring this global event to GVA Douglas County!
