What Is School Choice?
School choice empowers families to select the educational option that best meets their child’s needs. Whether that choice is a public school, charter school like GVA-DC, magnet school, private school, or homeschooling, school choice opens doors and unlocks potential.
At Global Village Academy Douglas County, we are proud to offer a world-class language immersion education that prepares students to become bilingual, biliterate, and brilliant global citizens.
Celebration Activities
Monday, January 26 – Power Up Your Profiles!
- Celebrate your school choice story by sharing on social media using #SchoolChoiceWeek. Help us spread the word about the power of bilingual education!
Tuesday, January 27 – Meet Owlbert!
- Meet Owlbert, the fun-loving National School Choice Week mascot, and explore bilingual-themed activities online.
- Students will write about their superpower in English and their immersion language.
Wednesday, January 28 – Thank a Hero!
- Students will write heartfelt “Thank You” notes to a teacher or staff member who has made a difference in their school journey.
Thursday, January 29 – Dress Like Your Favorite Superhero!
- Let creativity shine! Students may dress as their favorite superhero, comic book character, or historical figure who inspires them.
Friday, January 30 – Dance-Off & Wear Yellow!
- Dance-Off Competition: PM classes will compete to show off their moves. Winning classes will be featured on social media!
- Wear Yellow: Show your school spirit and celebrate school choice and bilingual pride.
