Hello Kindergarten Parents,

Welcome to Room 113's homepage! I’m very excited to be teaching your child's Kindergarten English class at Global Village Academy this year!

Here’s a little about me:
I was born in Quincy, Massachusetts and lived there until I was 9 years old. Then my family moved to Florida. Since then, I’ve also lived in Pennsylvania, Michigan, California, and now Colorado, where I’ve been since 2000.

Teaching young children is actually my third career, but it’s the one I love most. Ever since I was a child watching Mr. Rogers, I’ve felt that working with children was what I was meant to do. I love seeing the joy on their faces when they learn something new! I’ve taught children from birth through Pre-K, and for the past few years, I’ve worked as a childcare center director. I finished my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Colorado Christian University in 2023, and I’m excited to use everything I’ve learned in the classroom.

I live in Highlands Ranch with my mom, who will be 86 in October. My younger brother lives in Parker with his wife. I also have three nieces and a nephew who live in Colorado, Florida, and Arizona. One of my nieces is starting her senior year at Grand Canyon University! I also have family on the East Coast.

Some of my favorite things include:
Spending time with family, reading a good book on the porch swing of our house in the mountains of Pennsylvania with a glass of sweet tea, chocolate, Mr. Rogers, the way the trees look like a snow globe after a snow storm, dinner with friends and family, the color periwinkle, wildflowers, helping with children’s ministry (KidMin), reading historical fiction, Chinese and Mexican food, baking, Classic Coke, and my mom’s lemon meringue pie!
