About Me

Dear Families,

I am Vivian Mitchell, I teach 3rd grade Spanish for the 2021-2022 school year at Global Village Academy in Douglas County. I am very delighted to have your child in my class this year. I am looking forward to a very successful year and I know you are too. I have high expectations for your child and I will do all that I can help your child achieve those expectations.

I would like to take the opportunity to share a little about myself. I completed my studies at Universidad Femenina del Sagrado Corazón (UNIFE) in my native country of Peru, where I received my degrees in Elementary Education and Especial Education.

I am happily married to Mr. Mitchell for 16 years. We have an 10-year-old boy who started fifth grade this year.

I have 13 years of great experiences working as a teacher in both Peru and the U.S.

I will be teaching your child reading, writing, grammar and social studies in Spanish. I love all of the subjects that I teach but it is especially my goal to instill a lifelong passion for reading and writing in all of my students.

As parents and guardians, I understand that you are the most important teachers in your child’s life. I am always available to meet with you. Communication is a huge part of your child’s success.
