Morning Arrival
Drop off: 7:45 am-8:05 am(No earlier than 7:45 am—Innovation Learning)
Will be marked TARDY after 8:05 am(tardy pass needed)
The times of TARDY/ABSENT will impact student’s both academic and social/emotional behavior
Students will go directly to their AM teacher’s classroom(no hang around in the hallway/playground)
Students will go to centers by themselves in my class (Reading, Listening, Computer, Flash cards, Speaking) until all kids arrive
Snack
Morning snack: only one healthy snack
Afternoon snack: only one healthy snack
We have snack time daily (both AM and PM classes) in students may eat one snack they brings from home. We encourage parents to pack healthy items that can be eaten without a utensil.
When packing snacks for your student please avoid the 4 C’s: Candy, Cake, Cookies and Chips. These items may be enjoyed at lunch time in the cafeteria; however, we prefer that they not be eaten as snack in the classroom.
Suggestions for heathy snack items include:
Fruits and vegetables that can easily be eaten with your hands
Cheese slices, cubes or sticks
Pretzels or Goldfish type crackers
Veggie straws
Tubed yogurt or fruit (avoid yogurt or fruit that comes in a cup and requires a spoon for eating)
Nori/dried seaweed
In addition, students are encouraged to bring water into the classroom during snack time. Water is the only beverage student may drink during snack time as classrooms are carpeted and difficult to clean up after colored/sugary drinks. Fruit juices, flavored drinks and smoothie-style beverages may be consumed at lunch time.
Finally, we strongly suggest that food items containing nuts NOT be eaten in the classroom in order to provide a safe environment for students with allergies.
Recess
Morning recess(15 min; supervised by the home teacher)(adjust by the home teacher due to weather issue/safety issue/behavior or academic issue)
Lunch recess(30 min; supervised by duty adults)—Indoor recess due to weather/safety issue
Afternoon recess(15 min; supervised by the home teacher) )(adjust by the home teacher due to weather issue/safety issue/behavior or academic issue)
Lunch
In the morning, teachers will determine who brought their lunch from home and who is purchasing lunch from the cafeteria. For those students who are buying lunch, student ID will be used(Kinder).
(Kinder)Students will switch from their AM class to their PM class at 11:25 am before lunch recess. Student’s lunchboxes will be placed in the PM teacher’s lunch bin. Lunch bins will be dropped off in the cafeteria prior to escorting kindergarten students to the playground.
(First grader)Students switch to my class at 11:45 and I will send them downstairs at 12:00pm for lunch recess and they come in at 12:30 pm for lunch.
Following recess, students will line up behind their teacher’s colored cone and be escorted to the cafeteria one class at a time. Teacher’s lunch bins will be waiting for students at their designated table- those students purchasing lunch will line up in the serving area.
Parents
Please talk with your student about what they are packing for snack and what they are eating for lunch (some student were confused today as their snack was packed in a lunch box but they were supposed to buy lunch). Labeling items or packing them in separate compartments within their lunch box/backpack may help
Please tell kids clearly whether they are buying lunch or having their own home lunch
Not MUST buy lunch everyday
Put money in the account through the flyer app
Dismissal
Students will be dismissed in their PM teacher’s classroom
Innovation learning will go at 3:25 pm(please let your kids know whether they will go to IL after school for the day)
Encore will go at 3:45 pm(please let your kids know whether they have Encore class or not and what Encore class they will attend for the day)
Other kids will wait in the classroom for their Picking up number pop up: RED-Walk in- Door A; BLUE-Drive in-Door B
Please bring your unique OR code for scan and pick up
ALL CALL will be at 3:55PM to Door B.
Please , please pick up your kids BY 4:00 PM.
Kids not picked up by 4:00 PM will wait at the office . Mrs.Bush will call the parents.
