Before we enjoy a long Labor Day weekend, I would encourage you to take some time to reflect on the past few months. While plans may have changed, we all learned lessons about flexibility and resiliency that will help us navigate the coming year.
New Staff
Please welcome Diann Dewitt to GVA-DC! Diann is our new Front Office Administrative Assistant. She will be taking over for Andrea Baker beginning Monday, August 31st.
School Pictures
In-Person Learners
- School pictures will be taken on Wednesday, September 2nd. Uniforms are required. Picture proofs and ordering information will be available online following picture day.
Virtual Learners
- School pictures for Virtual Learners will be scheduled later this month. Uniforms will be required. Picture proofs and ordering information will be available online following picture day.
Fall Sports
GVA-DC will be offering 2 sports this fall that are accessible to both in-person and Virtual student-athletes.
- Cross Country for 4th and 5th grade students begins Tuesday, September 1st
- CrossFit for ALL GRADES begins Monday, September 14th
Labor Day Holiday
- There is no school for students Friday, September 4th through Monday, September 7th. In addition, the front office will be closed.
Safety Notes:
Please help keep our school community safe by:
- Wearing face coverings and maintaining social distance when on campus
- Using the crosswalk when walking from the parking lot to the school building
- Keeping students home when they are sick
- Having students wear masks at school when they are coughing and or sneezing due to non-COVID related symptoms.
- Donating Clorox wipes and alcohol-based hand sanitizers to school whenever possible!
