From the Principal

We collected over $600 in one day! Our goal for the month was $1000 however, due to our successful first day we have increased our goal to $2,000. Thank you to all who participated last Friday. Remember, we will be collecting donations for Jeans for Dreams every Friday in the month of February!

Following are some important reminders about school policies:

Attendance
It is imperative that students are present and on time for school every day.

Absences
In the event of an absence, Parents/Guardians must call the school (720-476-8044 ext 1) before 8:00 a.m. to report absences.

Tardies
  • Students will be marked tardy beginning at 8:05 am.
  • Students arriving after 8:05 am must be signed in by a parent or guardian at the front office.
Toys
  • Students are not allowed to bring toys, stuffed animals, game cards/trading cards, Rubik's cubes, or other distractions to school.
  • Please check backpacks and pockets prior to heading off to school in the morning!

Dress Code
Students are required to wear the school uniform every day (unless otherwise communicated). Approved uniform attire includes:
  • GVA-DC logo T-shirts/ polo’s (long or short-sleeved), sweatshirts or sweaters
  • Spirit wear (any GVA-DC t-shirt that is NOT a uniform shirt i.e. Fun Run Shirts, Spirit Wear with GVA Dragon logo, etc.) may be worn on Fridays only with approved uniform bottoms!
  • GVA-DC approved uniform bottoms (navy blue, black or khaki)
  • Uniform bottoms must be dress pant material. Denim jeans are unacceptable.
  • Leggings or tights may not be worn unless under a skirt. The uniform shorts, skirts, and skorts must follow the length requirements (finger-tip length).
  • Sneakers are required each day.
  • Students and uniforms must be neat and well-groomed- no holes.

Parking Lot
The parking lot on the west end of the building (between the modular and the school building) is for Staff Parking only between 7:00 am and 4:30 pm. If dropping students off/picking them up from Innovation Learning during these times, please park in the visitor’s lot and walk with your student to the rear of the building.

Please be patient and courteous to other drivers in the parking lot. Over the past few weeks, drivers have been observed cutting each other off in line, yelling at one another, and using unpleasant gestures.
