New Staff Position for Ms. Folkestad!

As a child, I remember playing school and wanting to become a teacher. Teaching runs in my family with my brother, mother, and grandparents having been teachers. This lead to my earning a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Bethany College, Kansas, and a Master’s in Special Education from the University of Northern Colorado. I have taught in a variety of capacities from preschool, to kindergarten, and middle school special education. As an adult, I can think of nothing more rewarding than watching students grow educationally, emotionally, and physically!

Personally, I love to learn about different cultures and have visited eleven countries in Eastern and Western Europe. I also participated in four mission trips within the America’s. In addition to traveling, I enjoy family time with my two nephews, Robert and Hunter. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, walking my lab/boxer mix Babe, and scrapbooking.

I am looking forward to the school year ahead!
