What is a Trusted Adult? A trusted adult is someone that young people perceive to have their best interests in mind; someone they trust when they want moral support, accurate information, or direction to helpful resources without judgment. Adults do not determine whether they are considered trusted -- young people make that determination based on their positive experiences with those adults. Trusted adults can be teachers, mentors, coaches, grandparents, extended family members, neighbors, clergy, and parents.
