This week we worked on -ig words, how to read your writing to look for what needs clarification, a little about voting, and continued reading centers.
I am looking forward to conferences Monday and Tuesday. I was planning to send home Dibels, i-Ready, and student self-evaluations today in time for conferences, but we didn't have school. You will still get these after fall break. The slot is fifteen minutes, but the SIgnUp Genius says twenty so I can have a few minutes between to get ready for the next conference. Your student is welcome to join us for the conversation. If you are a virtual family please have them share the self-evaluations that I told them to keep. I was planning to do another Scholastic Book Order due the Monday we get back. You can look at books and the flyers I would have sent home on their website. Just remember to use our class code TXJ7J. If you order more than $25 you can have them send the books to your home. This is a really good option for our virtual families if you are interested.
We are also having a Box Top classroom competition. If you are able to collect box tips please send them in on October 19th.
We did really awesome with Fun Run donations! As a school, we earned the foam party, inflatables, and Dip N Dots. Prize day is October 28th. There will be a special one hour reserved for virtual families and at this time that time is to be determined.
