Class Rules

In my class I expect my students to follow our school rules: 

Be Respectful

Be Reponsible

Be Ready to Learn

 

When my students are following these rules, they can earn Dragon Heart tickets.  

 

When students do not follow these rules I follow a progression of consequences:

 

1st time - verbal warning

2nd time - Students are given a Dragon Rethink Card (Warning number 2/ visual reminder to follow the rules)

3rd time - Students must complete a grade-level appropriate think it over form in a buddy classroom

4th time - I call home.  I do not wait until the end of the day to do this, I make sure my other students have something constructive to work on, then I call right then during my class.

5th time - I send the student to the office with a behavior referral.  

 

If a student makes a choice to behave in a way that threatens the safety of others or is otherwise considered a major offense, then I do not go through this progression; I send the student to the administration immediately.
